Positions available in the Robatzek group at the LMU Biocentre, Munich

The Silke RobatzekGroup is seeking highly motivated researchers at the level of postdoctoral fellow, PhD students and a technician to investigate the mechanisms by which plants control the infection of bacterial pathogens. Our research is supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and the European Research Council (ERC).
Applicants should have an interest in molecular plant-microbe interactions and the desire to tackle a recent disease epidemic caused by Xylella fastidiosa. Our research interest includes the immune signaling in response to Xylella’s colonization of the xylem, and Xylella’s virulence strategies such as extracellular vesicles (OMVs), which we investigate in both model and crop plants. Essential requirements are:

• Postdoctoral candidates should hold a PhD degree
• PhD students should be educated at a Msc level
• Demonstrate achievement in scientific research
• Ability to conduct research independently and operate as part of a team
• Excellent oral presentation, writing, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Experience in plant biology, microbiology and genetics or related subject is desirable.
